“Mattering Stories,” University of Basel

In was an absolute delight to share a draft chapter with the students of one of my former students at the University of Bern,
Dr. Zainabu Jallo. Zainabu has designed a new course at the Institute of Social Anthropology, University of Basel, “Ethnography as a Literary Form,” and asked me to speak about ethnographic poetry. I shared a draft chapter from my book in development: Mattering Stories: Where the Monsoon Waters Will. I also facilitated a short writing activity based on the work of Terrance Hayes, Elizabeth Bishop and Wanda Coleman.
